Todd Menkhaus

Todd J Menkhaus, PhD

Founder and Chief Technology Officer


Dr. Todd Menkhaus is Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Nanopareil. In his multifaceted role he leads product development and overall company strategy.

Prior to transitioning to Nanopareil full time, Todd spent 16 years as Professor of Chemical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technologies (SDSMT) in Rapid City, SD. During his tenure, he taught chemical/biochemical engineering and published >35 peer reviewed publications and 8 patents as lead/corresponding author. His research activities enjoyed the sponsorship of the NSF (National Science Foundation), USDA (US Dept of Agriculture), DOD (Department of Defense), State of South Dakota, and several industrial partners with >$3 million in research grants as the Principal Investigator, and >$6 million as Co-Principal Investigator. As part of his research, he led a group exploring new materials and processes for advanced separations in biopharmaceutical applications. This work led to the founding of Nanofiber Separations in 2011, which was later renamed Nanopareil and acquired by Gamma Biosciences in 2020.

Fletcher Malcom is a creative bioprocessing industry professional with subject matter expertise in downstream chromatography and new technology commercialization.

Prior to Nanopareil he spent nearly 10 years building the market leading pre-packed column business at Repligen. His experience includes launching the original OPUS® column technology in 2012 and managing a portfolio of chromatography products worth >$50M. From 2012-2021, Fletcher spearheaded more than 10 go-to-market campaigns and worked closely with end users to implement the technology for cGMP applications. Passionate about new technology, Fletcher is driven by his vision of delivering transformative products to the bioprocessing industry. He spent his early career at Waters Corporation as a technical sales representative working with large pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in the Eastern United States. Fletcher holds a BA in chemistry from Hamilton College and an MBA from Babson College. He enjoys cycling in his spare time.
